Scraped Listings & Takedown Policy

What Find Jobs is, legally

The listings shown under Find Jobs are drawn from publicly available sources — company career pages, government and PSU notification portals, NATS and AICTE internship portals, and other public job boards — and are indexed, summarised and displayed with attribution and a link back to the original source. Udhyogii does not reproduce a source's full page, does not remove the source's branding from the underlying listing, and does not accept or process applications on the original publisher's behalf; the "Apply" action redirects the user to the source. Aggregated listings remain the property of their original publisher at all times.

Basis on which this is done

Facts (a role exists, its title, its deadline) are not, in themselves, capable of copyright protection under the Copyright Act, 1957. Where a listing's specific wording is reproduced, Udhyogii's position is that doing so for the limited purpose of indexing and directing traffic back to the publisher is consistent with fair dealing for reporting of current events and research/private study under Section 52 of the Copyright Act, and Udhyogii minimises reproduction to what is reasonably necessary for a user to identify and locate the original listing. Separately, Udhyogii's own selection, verification and arrangement of listings may itself attract compilation copyright as a literary work (consistent with the standard set out by the Supreme Court in Eastern Book Company v. D.B. Modak), without affecting the underlying facts or the original publisher's rights in its own listing text.

Although Udhyogii may not, for every listing, meet the technical definition of an "intermediary" under Section 2(1)(w) of the IT Act, 2000 (which applies most cleanly to platforms that merely store or transmit third-party content unmodified), Udhyogii voluntarily applies a notice-and-takedown standard modelled on the due-diligence expectations of Section 79 of the IT Act and the Intermediary Guidelines, as described below.

Requesting a takedown

A listing's original publisher, or a rights holder acting on its behalf, may request that a listing be removed from Find Jobs at any time, whether or not the listing infringes any right — for example, because the vacancy has closed, or the publisher simply does not want it aggregated. To submit a request, use "Request a takedown" in the footer or the same control on the listing itself, and provide:

  • the URL or reference of the listing on Udhyogii;
  • the URL of the original source, and confirmation that you are the publisher or authorised to act for it;
  • the reason for the request (closed vacancy, inaccurate reproduction, unauthorised use of a trademark or logo, or other).

Udhyogii will act on a well-founded takedown request promptly and, in any event, within the timelines set out in the Grievance Redressal Policy. A listing removed at a publisher's request is removed platform-wide, for every institution and job seeker who could otherwise see it, while the request is reviewed.

Trademarks in aggregated listings

Employer names and logos that appear within an aggregated listing remain the property of their respective owners and are used only for the nominative purpose of identifying that listing's source; their appearance does not imply endorsement of, partnership with, or approval of Udhyogii by that employer.

Repeat and bad-faith requests

Udhyogii may decline a takedown request that is incomplete, made in bad faith, or that conflicts with a right a job seeker or institution independently holds to the same information (for example, where the underlying vacancy notification is itself a public government or PSU record). Udhyogii will state its reason where it declines a request.
