No genuine employer will ever ask a student for money — not one rupee, at any stage. There is no registration fee, no security deposit, no training fee and no refundable charge for a real job, internship or apprenticeship. Udhyogii never collects payment from a student, and never collects payment from an institution on behalf of a company. If a listing asks a student to pay for an offer, a certificate or an interview slot, that listing is fraudulent.
Students should never share Aadhaar or other identity-document details, bank details, one-time passwords (OTPs), or original certificates with a recruiter before a written offer is issued. Unauthorised collection or use of Aadhaar information is separately restricted under Section 29 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016.
Reports involving a request for money are reviewed within the hour. While a report is under review, the listing is removed from the feed for every institution, not just the reporter, so no other student can be affected in the meantime. The employer is never told who reported it — your identity is confidential to Udhyogii's review team, consistent with the confidentiality afforded to a complainant under the Grievance Redressal Policy.
Soliciting payment from a student under the pretence of an employment offer, certificate or interview slot may constitute the offence of cheating under Section 318 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (which replaced Section 420 of the erstwhile Indian Penal Code with effect from 1 July 2024, and carries an enhanced maximum sentence), and, where committed using a computer resource, may separately attract liability under the Information Technology Act, 2000. Where a report discloses conduct that appears to be a criminal offence, Udhyogii may refer it to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) or the jurisdictional police, and will cooperate with any lawful request for information from a law-enforcement authority, subject to due process.
An account found, on review, to have solicited payment or otherwise defrauded a student is permanently removed from the Platform, and Udhyogii may retain records of the account and the listing for as long as necessary to respond to a law-enforcement request or regulatory inquiry, notwithstanding the general retention periods in the Privacy Policy.
